Life will not always give us want we want but what we need mostly, the desire to have more than we have or having to help someone and always expect something in return is not always a good idea. Death is inevitable , no matter how hard you try, No one will ever live forever. Enjoy the time you have in your hands with your loved ones, because those might be your last days. I think the whole movie is a metaphor.
