3/5. Good idea, good visuals, but the story lacks. Nothing against Chris McKay, but a more experienced writer would have improved this movie a lot. Some of the scenes were poorly thought out, with the music building suspense at the wrong times and not properly representing the action on the screen. And plot holes! I would have liked to know more about where the aliens came from and what their actual purpose was, not just "see food, eat food, protect queen." A ship crash lands in Russia and all the aliens aboard go into hibernation for a thousand years. Why not just take over the planet then, when the ice hadn't frozen over? So much time was spent fighting the aliens that they left everything else up to speculation.
