What a great show! I love that it is a complete story with an ending; a concept that needs to be revived in the anime genre. Such a refreshing feeling seeing characters you care about growing emotionally and evolving. There are moments in this series that will unexpectedly flash through my mind for years to come. I worked in a bar in lower Manhattan for a number of years and this show made me very sentimental. A much needed respite from anime fight scenes that last 4 episodes or more! I hope to see more finite series like this in the future.

I really enjoyed Banishers and it came as quite a surprise, since I hadn’t heard about it before it released. I would compare it to a mix of God Of War and Detroit: Become Human. It definitely held my interest through the whole campaign and exploration was fun, although the rewards seemed redundant after a while. The game is great, but has a couple flaws. The first problem is a lack of variety in enemies, there are only a handful of different specters to fight and a reused boss. The second problem is that everyone you try to help throughout the game is a total jerk or just plain evil. I “ascended” everyone through the game as part of trying a “good” ending, but was quickly regretting my decision since most of the people who ask for help are hiding evil secrets. It would have been refreshing to help a character that was actually likable. Beside the two main protagonists, absolutely none of the other characters are friendly or grateful for help. Often your efforts to help others are met with hatred or ridicule. Aside from those flaws, I recommend this game to those who like action adventure with a little investigation thrown in.

A very good souls-like game with incredible atmosphere and aesthetics. I found the combat to be quite enjoyable and not punishing like many games of this type. Although there are hidden enemies and “jump” attacks, I didn’t find any of the enemies or bosses to be impossible or perform “cheap” hits. The environments constantly reward exploration and have numerous shortcuts to discover. The game is also a perfect length at around 25-30 hours for me to complete with every quest and a small amount of grinding to upgrade my weapons to the max. The Spiders development team has done a great job at creating a different take on this style of game. It’s not perfect, but I highly recommend it.

I loved this game! The pacing, difficulty and length was just right. It took me 20 hours to complete, which is the sweet spot for games in my opinion. Combat was fun and the variety of enemies was fantastic. Exploration was rewarded by a variety of different weapons, armor and accessories that had myriad effects and combinations. I found the pixel art charming and well animated. This game was clearly made by a small team with love. One of my favorite Switch games to date. There’s no reason to pass this game up, especially with the reasonable price (I picked it up for under $10 on Nintendo Shop). Fun to play, which is the whole point of gaming!

The Callisto Protocol is a very good game. With that being said, it should only be purchased on sale, since it only lasts approximately 12-13 hours. The graphics are excellent and the story is good, although the plot does fall into predictable tropes more than a few times. Combat is fun but can suffer from recovery animations, causing you to get stuck in a death loop. You won’t get enough upgrades to power up every weapon and ability, so you’ll need to choose carefully. I did get tired of being with an NPC and suddenly something collapsed, separating us. That scenario happens at least half a dozen times. If a sequel is planned, I would recommend expanding the gameplay to the action/adventure sweet spot of about 20-24 hours, speeding up animation recovery and reloading times and writing a story with fewer predictable story beats. If you can pick up this game for about $35 or less, you will be a happy camper. I got this game as a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber. I enjoyed it.

This is one of my favorite VR experiences for reasons that I never expected. It really brings me back to the days of sitting around a table in my friend’s basement and playing D&D with a group of high school buddies. I can’t say I’ve had a better time actually connecting with people through VR. The game is super fun and challenging to the point of really needing the support of a team to get through each map. You can play silently if you want, but vocalizing and strategizing changes everything and makes it very rewarding. I hope they continue to add new “modules” to grow the experience, since they are all fun and contain many surprises. A “must buy” in my opinion for the social experience alone.

This game is fun and does not deserve the harsh negative reviews from some outlets. You can adjust the “talkiness” of the protagonist and Cuff, you can adjust the graphics mode to your liking and the story is good, not amazing like “The Last of Us”. The story is much better than another recent game I like, “Marvel’s Midnight Suns”, which shoehorns its story into the premise of disparate characters cooperating with each other in a weird inter dimensional castle. The gameplay and exploration are fun and the graphics are good, but not on the level of God of War or Ratchet and Clank. My only gripe is that the magical parkour mechanics can be a little floaty and jerky, like putting too much throttle on a dirt bike kind of feeling. Overall, Forspoken is way better than a lot of the reviews would have you believe.

Absolutely one of the best Switch games available. The pixel art and animations are AAA quality. The world and characters are enthralling and the gameplay is varied and fun throughout. The play time is also excellent at around 30 hours. There were many times during the game that made me reflect and realize that I was playing something special. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone give this game a try.

I just finished this game and I had a blast. I own every Resident Evil game except for 6, and I’m embarrassed to say, have only finished this one and the first game when it came out in the mid nineties. Every other game had a point where I got frustrated and couldn’t continue. This game is well balanced and doesn’t have obtuse puzzles that you would need a guide to solve. I really love the action/horror balance the developers achieved. It is more forgiving than number 4, while being so over the top, that you can’t wait to see what happens next. Very fun!
