It is not quite the books, but still follows the main path. I understand that adaptation was needed to lure all audiences, and that is okay. I have rarely seen a movie or series that followed the book exactly. The Magic sequinces are phenomenal, eventhough the depth of characters are a little rushed, it is understandable. They might be trying to push too much, too fast.
