I miss Monk. I watched the series on TV way back when it was being broadcast but I haven't been able to find it since then so I decided to read the book series to get my Monk fix. I feel satisfied with my experience but the books are written in a very simple way. This book is written from the perspective of Natalie (the assistant of Monk). I burned through this book in about 4 hours while I was traveling by ferry from the mainland of Italy to Sardinia. It's very easy to read and very pleasurable. The author reminds you of the strangeness of Monk and give you a clever story. The first book is cheap on Amazon Kindle but the next books get more expensive. I will probably continue buying and reading because I love the story line. I have also suggested the books to my students who are learning English as a second language because of the simplicity of the writing. If you want a quick, simple, straightforward read with a nice story about an obsessive compulsive detective that obviously has no problems with money and finishes with a cute little bow at the top then pick this book up but if you are looking for a complex story, you should probably read Tom Clancy or Stephen King.
