The right-wing denunciations of "wokeness" here are predictable and stupid. Much of the film is engaging, and much of the acting is good. My problem with it is that the ending comes out of nowhere, has next to nothing to do with what came before... and seems both dramatically and politically pointless.

Brilliantly written and acted. Flawless, really.

A hysteria-ridden, pretentious, and mostly pointless melodrama about nothing.

Some great acting by Lindo. The film starts strong, but goes on too long, along the way losing its original themes and the plot. Ends with irrelevant homilies.

This series is surprisingly Slow-moving, dull, and ultimately very disappointing. I will certainly cancel my sub to CBS All Access.
