I have just finished this book which I very much enjoyed - a big improvement on 'Lethal White' which I thought was rather confused. The denouement took me completely by surprise. For those who have been denouncing JKR on the basis of her supposed transphobia and refusing to read this book for that reason, I can tell them that I did not spot a single reference to the transgender community. Nor is transvestism mentioned. The confusion seems to have arisen because a convicted murderer sometimes dressed in women's clothing in order to gain the confidence of his victims, as has indeed happened in real life cases. So put your prejudices aside, folks, and just enjoy the twists and turns of this complicated story.
