I feel like this movie hasn’t gotten the praise it truly deserves. I absolutely loved the experience of watching this film—it is everything I pictured when reading the book. The director makes a remark in the behind the scenes footage about how horror is a safe space for us to confront the darkness in humanity, and I really feel Stephen King and Flanagan achieved a compelling work of art with this film. You chuckle, you jump, you might cry, you’ll definitely feel disturbed, and you’ll love it.
