Been wanting to play since I was a kid and now that I finally can, I can definitely say that I'm in love with this game 100%! I've been playing the free trial off and on for a few months now and I am beyond amazed at just how much there is to do! There is literally never a dull moment! My one and only major gripe about the gameplay would be the dungeons. I'm one who has never been a fan of playing team tournaments or dungeons and usually try to avoid them at all costs if given the option. The fact that we're almost forced to do team dungeons in order to progress to the next part of the story honestly makes me not want to play sometimes. (yes I've solo'd a couple successfully soley because I was several levels ahead of the required level but this is not always the case) I'm admittedly a tank who is still learning how to tank and usually gets yelled at because of this which kinda ruins the whole experience for me. Dungeons have now become something that make me incredibly anxious and I absolutely dread them with passion. There is so much freedom for players to do so many other things in the great big world that is FF14, I think that having the option to play dungeons solo without any requirements should be added.

*SPOILERS* TL/DR: This movie was just Marvel meets the justice league, meets the Iron Giant, with an itty bitty sprinkle of Greek Mythology After seeing the score critics gave the movie on rotten tomatoes, I figured I'd take a chance to see it anyways as I usually don't agree with their scores. This is the one rare occasion where I'd actually agree with the rating, however. The concept was great but the pacing was painfully slow from start to finish. I also hate to say it, but some of the characters honestly felt like carbon copies of DC characters. Athena or "thena" being wonder woman, Icarus being superman and Makari being the flash. They even acknowledge this IN the movie and joke about how Ikarus is basically superman which honestly was a little odd. The plot was way too busy in terms of characters and none of them were explained well if at all. I love seeing people take the creative route when it comes to adding a special touch or twist to a character that is based off of another character, but if you're going to create and/or straight up insert characters based off of actual characters from real ancient mythology, folklore, and figures of history, you may want to add a tiny bit of backstory just so it makes sense. I laughed when Icarus flew into the sun because of how absurd the scene was. He didn't have wings. He had no reason to even fly himself into the sun. The real story of Icarus doesn't even depict him flying into the sun (because that would've been impossible). He flew too high and his wax wings which his father made for him, melted and he fell into the sea and drowned. Not sure how that story tied into the movie or this character at all but perhaps there's some sort of message that I'm just not getting from that. Gilgamesh made....0 sense whatsoever. Why was he named Gilgamesh? What does he do in reference to Gilgamesh? Was he a king? We'll never know. Same with Athena or "Thena" as she prefers for some...unknown reason. They literally refer to her as a goddess yet she's the weakest of them all. If you're going to introduce a goddess, that pretty much thwarts half of the plot as you've now introduced another superior being with otherworldly powers and abilities. Something else that I failed to understand was the whole creation story. If they were these...android-like beings, why did they bleed and take on wounds like humans? Why'd they have human emotions? The scenes were all over the place. You'll literally watch a scene from their present time, fully expecting to stay in present day, only to suddenly jump back thousands of years for flashback scenes that are so long and drawn out, that I forgot we were just flashing back. CGI was "meh". Fight scenes were great in my opinion, especially the fight between icarus and Makari. All in all, if you're bored and need something to do, go see this movie, but don't expect to understand much of its plot.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I wasn’t a fan of this movie at all. This movie was all over the place! It was like Gunn was watching Deadpool and playing Sunset Overdrive while writing the plot for this film. The characters that I was most excited to see in action (aka almost every character that gets widely advertised in the trailer) were either killed off as soon as they were introduced or they hardly served any purpose other than to deliver a quick joke or two. At times, the movie felt like it didn’t know what it wanted to be. Was it an action movie? A romantic Latin soap opera? Are we supposed to feel bad? Sad? Is this the part when we laugh? Are they super heroes now? It was too much and ultimately tried way too hard to be funny. The transitions and title cards were incredibly annoying. Although this is likely just a personal nitpick of mine, nothing takes the immersion out of a movie than seeing “1 day later” in big flaming letters or soap bubbles pop across the screen. There are certain movies I’d expect to see this in like Disney or Deadpool, and I’d excuse it if it were done once or twice, but to do it for just about every transition, it just felt too silly to me. Harley Quinn felt more like a background character in this film. Margo’s acting was great as always but Harley sadly wasn’t written in to do much. She had one good fight scene with a bunch of beautiful but pointless visuals behind her and that was it. Other than that, she goes missing for a majority of the film and only pops in to deliver a quirky one liner or two. The other characters on the squad were honestly painfully bland aside from Flagg, Peacemaker and Bloodsport. Nanauae ended up being my favorite surprisingly but I failed to see the importance in his character. We’re told that he’s a literal shark god but aside from taking a load of bullets, getting attacked by killer cuddle fish, and falling from a crumbling building and surviving, he really doesn’t do anything “god-like”. He’s pretty much just a giant anthropomorphic shark that can talk and is only there to play the tired played out role as the “big stupid lug” character with the mental capacity of a toddler that says something cute or funny every few minutes. I swear, The majority of the time that I was watching, I was thinking “alright, there’s going to be a cool underwater fight scene where we get to see his true potential in an amazing underwater fight or something, right?!” But nope. They don’t even put him in water for more than 2 minutes, and the 2 minutes that he does happen to be in water, he’s practically drowning due to being attacked. There were way too many villains and it got to a point where I honestly didn’t know who the main villain was supposed to be. Waller’s character turning sloppy and evil was upsetting as she was the complete opposite of how she was portrayed in the first movie thus making me not really care for her in this one. The starfish was probably the most forgettable character in the movie. It’s essentially just a giant starfish that goes around smacking people in the face with its little starfish hive mind babies. We never find out what they do or what it’s objective is and that’s because it only takes maybe five steps before being killed off. What was it going to do with the city? Where was it going? Why did it only want THAT city and not the entire world? Watch this film if you’ve got some time to spare and want to watch a cheesy film for the heck of it. Otherwise don’t get your hopes up.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS! This movie was bland and bloated. I felt like I was watching “Warner Bros. The Movie ft. Lebron James” instead of Space Jam 2. Being a long time fan of the Looney Tunes, I was hoping to see more of their wacky antics and humor in this movie. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen much because Warner Bros. Wants to make sure that you know just how many characters and movies they own. The idea of the Algorithm was a great start and honestly should’ve been expanded upon more. Instead, the movie spends half of its runtime showing you how rich and famous Lebron James is, then becomes one big compilation of the toons jumping from movie to movie to find the other toons who have for whatever reason, taken up jobs as different characters in different universes? For example, Elmer and silvester were in Austin Powers (which I will admit, was actually hilarious), Lola is found training to be an Amazonian with Wonder Woman. Why?! Why is she even IN the DC universe to begin with?! Daffy is training to be the next Superman (which made more sense since he had his alter ego in the old cartoons called Super Duck). Then Rick and Morty randomly show up out of nowhere to drop the Tasmanian Devil off. All of this gets glossed over completely. It is never once explained why or how they crossed over to these other universes. The rest of the movie is just WB throwing all of their characters in your face, because apparently Ready Player One wasn’t enough apparently. Oh look, there goes the Iron Giant and King Kong…again. Look, all of the Gotham villains are on the sidelines! Wow look at the literal sea of characters that WB owns! We. Get. It! If I wanted to know how many characters you owned that badly, I would’ve googled it. I enjoyed what little humor there was and wish that the focus could’ve been centered more on the continuation of the lives of the toons after the last movie and how they each rekindled their passion for ball, work their way up to building their team THEN facing al G rhythm.
