When she goes to the fertility centre with her husband (whom, by the way, I feel very sorry for, he seems really lovely and genuine, he adores his son but his wife does not...)... Christine dropped hints as big as h-bombs to her husband that she doesn't want a other child, to the point where she manipulates him in front of a professional medic, to get him to cry and feel awful for wanting another child.. It was clear to me way before she got to the clinic she was angling for a surrogate birth all along ... no wonder Anna won't have anything to do with her, Anna knows her rubbish and manipulation too. Grab the popcorn, indulge without guilt.

Ignore the "super rich" label and delve into the psyche of everyone on that show, including the presenters. I was fascinated by the main presenter, he's very charismatic, quite humble, extremely good reader of behaviour and a real entertainer - he's someone you'd want at your dinner party, I was really taken by his candid nature and his genuine heartfelt sadness for David. BamBam - watching him is like watching a student, diligently sponging up everything yet not giving much away in speech, but his body language speaks volumes. He's super interested in competitive and successful people, he's absorbed by it and you can see he's growing away from flashy looks to something more subdued. He fancies himself as David Sylvian but he has a long road to travel to develop that much cultural intelligence. Mimi is fabulously open, real, observant and herself. She may look cute but her mind is her charm! She genuinely felt for David not because of his cash but because she thought he was cute in his individual character - I actually think David needs someone like her. In fact I think David needs an English girl who can speak fluent Korean - he needs someone grounded but highly accomplished who needs cheering up by David! The "rich" characters couldn't be more different - the Italian was the most annoying and predictable, but to an English person we see through "charm"... when he went on the blind date with David he was predictable and the ladies were even more predictable. The lady friend of Theo's was his type and no wonder they are mates, she maybe older but my god she was more attractive because of her natural intelligence and quite self assured nature. The lady from Georgia dressed like a Russian hooker on the blind date and had so much injected into her lips, I thought they were pillows. Yet she could speak and articulate fluent Korean. I think that lady needs to get some tips from Theo in how to act classy and behave - he is a greaser but his manners and aesthetics could teach her a few things. I think her hair is too black, just sayin.... ! The Korean blind date woman was playing a game and her farm girl story wasn't pulling any wool of my eyes - yes she looked fresh and innocent but underneath there was a heart of steel, the gold diggin was strong in her... what a fool she made of herself when he cooked for her, being the one to suggest they meet again, talk about looking a little desperate! If all Koreans are as easy as her no wonder old Theo is sweeping them up and throwing them out every month lol He will end up marrying an aristocrats daughter who is as rich as Hades, someone who will bank roll his chef ambitions... The other rich people... they were not as interesting apart from Aren, who seems to have a very airy yet beautiful soul- I think she's very cultured and it shows. The other ladies are accomplished and successful in their own right but I wasn't as fascinated by them. You could easily watch this in a night and I hope they make a few more series and feature David because he's really funny and I don't think he knows he's quite charming without the money - he's utterly endearing and you just want to choose a better house for him that has real style - like Theo's parents home in Italy!! That home was out of this world beautiful in a modern way - I think Theo's parents should have their own show I was very very fascinated in his father, that man has a presence and he's ultra stylish in a very very annoyingly natural way - the dad has inate style and that's rare. More of the parents, they were fabulous!

Graham Norton on 9th February 2024 deserves all of the awards this year! How on earth did he manage two huge stars like Michael Sheen and Ian Mckellen - those two could have gone either way, gregarious or nuclear - but Graham's charm and emphasis on his guests and going with their flow just shows you how adept and natural he is. Ian Mckellen, you showed what an incredible star you are, with kindness and good humour, especially in the face of that uncouth, rude person, Josh Widdicombe - who thankfully had the good grace to blush after his nasty attack on you - I loved that people found you on the street walking and wanted a selfie, you took joy in giving simple joy to others! Michael Sheen, you kept your ego in check - it was lovely to see you laughing, genuinely, rather than acting your way through an appearance. Gabrielle clearly had nerves but Graham steered that ship too and smoothed things over.

If you can get past the Presenter and his "shouting" way of talking, it's a very interesting yet depressing documentary. Depressing? Because it only highlights the lack of Community we have in the West. Due to a 24 hour culture. Okinawa has a slow pace of living. It will enduce envy and sadness in most Western souls. Their way of life cannot be compared with a vast landmass country like USA, because it is a series of tiny islands, its hot, and not overdeveloped. I live in the UK. Even the Isles of Scilly is horrifically expensive to live - where expense and money live, the less community. Did those Japanese lovely families look financially rich - no - but they are rich IN COMMUNITY, SKILLS, AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE. In the UK we are losing our community, our emotional intelligence and basic skills like sewing and cooking. That's what this documentary dredges up.... that we are lost.

It's like Inception meets Moonlight Kingdom but it falls a bit short of the absolute, pure magic of Moonlight Kingdom. The film is 2 hours long but what's intriguing is that it doesn't quite reach your soul and that's a lot of time in which to do that. If they'd got the writers of Magical Buereaux, Lemony Snickett (film verdion), Locke & Key, Moonlight Kingdom and Gilmore Girls, this would have been incredible. Still, it's not a bad film, the young actress and Chris O'Dowd were brilliant and Jason Momoa did a reasonable job - It's just the script and special effects are disjointed, they're not as seamless and as deep as Locke & Key, for example.

It could have been so much more. I absolutely don't believe that really lovely grounded guy would ever want to be with a woman like that. I am all for liberation, but the lead woman here is not independent and certainly hates herself enough to have trashy one night stands that she clearly doesn't enjoy - this woman is not empowered at all. She's ridiculous. Samantha from Sex.In the City was real and independent, her character was discerning and unapologetic, real. Religion aside, the guy lowered his standards. I was left shouting at the TV saying "run" !!! I don't believe for a moment either, that his wife was that trashy - it was exaggerated rubbish and certainly not well executed. Whereas the sister, who fell for a white guy, is grounded and so is her husband, they are clearly two people who understand each other and are in love, yes it's acting, but it's clear they are beautiful souls. The other thing I would have loved to have seen more of, is a real Pakistani family in Pakistan and more filmatic scenes of the country. I loved the music scene in a back street, that was very beautiful. It was trying to be Love Actually and The Holiday - both very good films, but it failed, there was something missing.

After two episodes it all warms up and makes sense. Yes it's a bit far fetched, and yes, you can't see in chemistry in the beginning but I am glad I stuck with it. I love that the series covers real things, like getting your period just when you finally make out with someone you really like and the theme of a mother insisting you be thin... and be this and be that, to the point where you don't know who you are. Beautifully shot, especially Santorini!
