NOT good. will smith was a decent genie, the choreography was really good, and it was visually stunning, i’ll give it that. but the singing was choppy, the characters weren’t developed, and the plot was confusing. i really wanted to like this movie, i did but i just couldn’t. disney is capable of making a good remake of this movie, as shown in the stage version which was INCREDIBLE. but this just fell flat for me. none of the characters were actually likable, especially jasmine. her song speechless was really was so out of place and felt awkward. the entire time i was sitting in the theater, i was like ‘what is going on’ overall; 4.6/10
