NO SPOILERS: Walked into Rise of Skywalker with open-mind, understanding that Star Wars is supposed to be fun and a little cheesy and partially for kiddos, and was still INCREDIBLY disappointed. They had the chance to bring back the old charm and characters while still blazing a new trail that shone light on episode 8. They did none of that. What you got was close to three hours of a poorly written movie. Every time they made a left turn it felt either obvious or forced. The whole movie felt forced. It seems likely that episode 9 was changed after the failure (supposed failure) of episode 8. There was no continuity. The force is still a mystery but not in the enchanting way Lucas created. In a bizarre and almost circus-like way. I’ve never seen a movie so well shot cinematically be that choppy.
