This is certainly the most insulting incarnation of the show. In this new, vapid and unnecessary version of The X Factor, the audience is expected to feel a great sympathy towards the “celebrity” contestants who are now eager for a fresh fame and different stream of income. I’m not really sure what else there is to say. In three words: formulaic, irritating and desperate. I’d give it 0 stars if it weren’t for Dermot O’Leary’s knowing and cheeky presenting style.
P.s. Expect the usual empty critiques and varied vocals that have always been offered by this show. Also, watch out for Simon really trying to pretend to care and failing miserably.
