To all those who are denigrating this film and mocking Abhishek even prior to it's release just because of comparing it with Scam 1992 must remember his performance in Guru. His work was highly plausible and I believe that his casting in this is excellent. He is apt for doing this role. Dont spread baseless hatred. And I didnt really wanted to rate this film without even being released, I did so because its a necessary criteria and rated 5 because I didnt wanted to spread negative ratings because it has already plummeted down to 2 stars.

The problem in India leading to the the downfall of content based cinema was never nepotism but the sheer ignorance of highly creative, entertaining and underrated movies like Kaalakandi. The movie was hell of a ride and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's one of my favourite anthology movie. Transitions of one story to another and the final amalgamation of them was praise worthy. I have always been a fan of Saif ali Khan's later works and not only he is choosing roles that are are highly diversified and challenging but also carrying them out with unblemished performances. I am not saying its another Pulp Fiction but it can possibly be a milestone in the progression of Bollywood towards a more content based movies.

Wanted to give 4.5 but couldn't for obvious reasons. The movie was superb for me and it hit all the tones perfectly for a psychological horror thriller. The struggle of the main character with his family, friends and lover, due to his underlying childhood trauma, was aptly displayed. The movie slowly delves deeper and deeper into the psyche of a traumatized man who knows what's happening to him and its cause but is helpless against it. Both his will to fight and the despair that he faces, majorly forms the crux of the movie. The manifestation of his trauma and his troubled mind as a hallucination in a Donnie Darko styled character ( no connection to it though) cements the brilliance of the directing team. The film had everything it should have : good acting, the psychedelic episodes, the trance like scenes that the character often faces, nice bgm and above all, the flow of emotions and the acts that completely justify those emotions were the icing for this must watch psy-horror.

In my opinion "The Burning (2018)" was the finest movie I saw recently and one of the most captivating thriller. Although the movie is a slow burner, but not once I felt detached to it. The symbolism and the persona that each character emitted were just too immersive. It was like watching a beautiful painting giving out a strange sense of surrealism. The atmosphere was too indulging, the movie sorts of draws you into its universe. In particular, the dance sequence in which the lead female cast dances topless gave out the same feeling that you get while watching Twin Peaks. It represented the free form of one's desire flowing untamed, free of societal norms. Also the ending was ambiguous and very well crafted. The whole movie was like the best work of a gifted craftsman who worked hard on its finest details. Kudos to the whole team for providing such a masterpiece

Masterpiece!! This movie was just perfect - a tightly knitted, jaw-dropping suspense movie. The character development was highly plausible and the acting of Nawajuddin was flawless. Have heard people comparing it with Knives Out and even saying it's a copy of it, well, sorry for them. The movie gets you intrigued from the beginning and never lets go of its hold till the end. Storyline and the plot development was awesome. Being a detective thriller, the connection of events (a crucial point in these genres) is also shown in a very interesting way. The movie was darker than I anticipated which just adds to its charm. The movie keeps you guessing till the end just as a detective thriller should do it. In my opinion this movie is a must watch.

Totally engrossing psychological horror, with all the elements that perfectly toy with your darkest emotions. As I was watching it, I remembered some important work to do but it's radiancy was such that I just couldn't leave it. The main character's persona spiralling down into delusionary state was both unnerving and devastating to watch. This movie clearly brings out the horrors of being alone and the frantic attempt to find a meaning for their life. How religiously delirious one can become just to garner some attention and lead a life with supposed "meaning" can be seen in a frightening way through this film. Human are social animals and if left alone, their own power of imagination and consciousness can turn up against them. This movies brings out the pain of people suffering from PTSD and how they dearly need one's support. The movie is perfectly directed and edited with some really powerful scenes. I am just glad that I watched it.

To summarize in one sentence, it is basically 'Life' meets 'the Blackcoats daughter'. The creature flick that this movie has gave vibes of 'Life' while the atmosphere and ending reminded me of the 'Blackcoats daughter'. But the interesting analysis of the alien monster and its uniqueness as a symbiote is what gives this movie a depth and seperates it from other movies of this genre. The praise certainly goes to the editors of this movies to give it a perfect running time. Has it been a little longer it could have been boring. The movie is based in Russia which provides an excellent cold and isolated kind of atmosphere along with the communist regimes which gives the viewers the feeling of strandedness that the characters in this movie face. The script is taut with impeccable dialogue delievery and acting. Definetely a unique but one time watch.

One of the most underrated movies of bollywood. Surely a must watch for all movie lovers. Journey of Janardan from a loafer boy to a passionate lover and finally a legendary rockstar has been marvelously portrayed. Aside from Nargis Fakhri, everybody has outdone himself. From Ranbir's acting, Imtiaz's direction and A.R.'s music everything deserves an standing ovation. But Mohit Cauhan's singing is what completes the portrayal of the titular character. The film also serves as a ride to some of the scenic places of Prague and Liberec and helps to delve deeper into the life of the protagonist. The music fits with every situation and grasps its emotions completely. Watch it if you dont wanna miss a gem from Bollywood....

I don't understand Marathi language but His acting doesn't need subtitles to watch it. He completely justifies the name of the movie.

Very hard to get out of mind after immediate watching. Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi has skillfully combined the elements of a folklore, horror, thriller and darker aspects of human psychology into this cult movie of bollywood. Anand Gandhi has yet again proved his directorial prowess in indian cinema. Powerful perfomance by its caste and gripping background score compels you to live its unsettling atmosphere. Just like Snowpiercer and Pan's Labyrinth this movie stays with you for a long time. I was eagerly waiting for this movie after watching its trailer and it didn't disappointed me from any aspect. Must watch for those who love psychological thrillers and Del Torro's fans.
