I loathe how this movie normalizes litigation against healthcare workers.
Martha’s family, extended family-friends, and husband take a strong stance on the necessity to pursue litigation of an accidental death even though Martha is the one who is truly affected and is actually opposed to it. In watching the birthing scene I believe that the mid-wife did no harm and acted in an appropriate manner. Everyone nowadays tries to place fault in someone else’s hands even when it is an act of God. Martha at the end finally spoke up for her self in the defense of Eva.
The rhetoric of necessitating litigation against healthcare workers when an act of God occurs is DANGEROUS. This is why many people do not go into the healthcare field.
Additionally, the film is quite long and dragged out.
