Masterfully made with hints and tie-ins throughout. It is also gruesome and graphic. A fairy tale to the horrible extreme with themes of a culture of great ancient ideas, but gone wrong in their execution of community support and the destiny of its members. All of this is set in a peaceful rural isolated area with gorgeous music. The members seem benign but carry out the most macabre bloody rituals, roping in the modern day visitors to their fatal ends, except one, chosen to be the may queen. She seems oddly revenged at the end from her uncaring family and clueless handsome boyfriend. The new family of the cult is an interesting chilling substitute.
