The 1967 production was very disappointing. I gave it one star because the scenery was nice. Didn’t like the music, didn’t fit the film. Julie Christie’s acting was so flat and she looked too modern for the part.I had little feeling for her. In fact, she annoyed me. Alan Bates was the best actor in the film. I rooted for him the whole time. The others were not convincing. Really, kind of an odd film. Wouldn’t ever see it again.
