Excellent film if you know what to expect. It's like the franchise decided to start off with a prequel. The story follows the champions as they discover the concept of Mortal Kombat and their powers while Shang Tsung and Outworld attempt to attack Earth realm's champions before the prophesized tournament. It's a great concept, nonstop action, and a fresh start to a story that has been told a million times over. The graphics are amazing, the references to the original games are spot-on, and the setup for the next movie is fantastic. Highly recommended!
