It’s kind of disappointing to read some of the negative and presumptuous reviews people have after watching one episode.
This show is definitely for a certain audience. By that I mean most will not understand and see if for it’s beauty. Most people saw this episode as just another series looking to exploit and allow lonely drug and alcohol addicted teenagers to complain about their first world problems, but i saw this show for what it was and it was so much more than that.
The main character suffers from multiple disorders/mental health issues and unfortunate turns to unhealthy coping methods. I think the show beautifully captures the euphoric moments that being under influence can give you. Very well filmed. Most people who don’t suffer from these conditions will not 100% understand or be able to fully grasp and feel from those scenes what those who suffer from it can, but the show does a great job at attempting to invite all audiences in anyway.
This show showcases some real issues that sadly still affect both teens and young adults today that need to be talked about. It brings to light issues that are prominent in the media without exploiting it for views or making it the main draw factor.
This show, shows great promise and I’m excited to see the episodes unfold the characters in it.
