It's okay. While yes, it's obvious they made the game to sell amiibos, the amiibos have become increasingly cheaper and easier to find. Playing by yourself or with two people isn't very fun. Having three or four people is almost a must to get any sort of enjoyment out of the game, since it actually gets a little competitive, especially towards the end if you turn on time limits. It's fun for an afternoon or two with friends.
