I loved this book. The themes concerning refugees, exile, prejudice and embracing new cultures are sadly still so relevant. The historical information is fascinating. I did not know about Pablo Neruda's campaign and the description of the refugee camps is heart rending. An absorbing, intelligent novel by a talented author.
