It was such garbage that I struggle to process my emotions about it. DIY psychology at its finest! This is nothing like Schizophrenia. I didn't expect a facts-based documentary or anything, but this is so heavily fictionalized that it is impossible to suspend your disbelief.
Even looking beyond the poor SZ depiction, you'll find nothing of substance; only more of the typical "trauma makes people into monsters" narrative, which is entirely (factually) false *and* has been done to death, which leaves the filmmakers no good reason. The remaining time mostly consists of awkward interactions and dialogue that are indescribably off-putting. "He [the voice] says mean things about me." Ah, yes. That meanie, constantly making fun of your sex life! What torment! This mental anguish knows no bounds! Time to shove a screwdriver in your ear. "Some people are just sick", and some movies are just irredeemable. First film that I must assign a 0/10.
