By all states there are issues with some plot holes in the story See spoiler at the bottom for elaboration Narratively the issues are unquestionably out of character and strange Explicitly the "love " scene between the antagonist is hypocrisy of the highest order However the game is undeniably good even thought the story is slow I cannot in good conscience give this a 5 or a zero, the quality is good and what u expect from naughty dog However the political drama and the false dmca claims will hurt peoples perspectives I do find the story lackluster and hypocritical with the agenda its trying to push sadly falling flat in the second half Above average but no masterpiece Gameplay Nothing new but better then the first only slightly 8/10 Gore review Boy the gore , from what I can tell dynamic mutilation bullet holes and a incapacitated state to make u feel evil. The explosions are definitely perfect with the damage modelling chunks and blood pools Only thing I would say needs improvement is the inconsistency in the activation of the incapacitated state And the overuse of arterial spray 9/10 Soundtrack Amazingly ambient and subtle like the first game fits well with the subject matter 10/10 Thanks for reading spoiler section down below Now we get into the spoilers The second half of the game u play as the antagonist Abby The one who killed Joel The premise is to humanise the char and further develop the motivation of the characters death However this is where it loses steam The very much end of Ellie’s story comes half way through the game But it keeps second guessing itself for the sake of the revenge plot To say the seven stages of grief are on show in full effect is a understatement The game makes u question all the death u brought and makes u feeling anger for ur own actions Thought provoking to say the least However these are a few moments the story dips Joel’s death however needed for the story didn’t have weight it wasn’t exactly handled well Even a simple final word of “its ok” or “I love u” would have brought more weight but sadly Joel is silent I imagine Glenn’s death from the walking dead but silent and void of emotion Jesse death handled well that’s the shocking sudden character death that hits Joel’s sadly is a miss And the ending fight sadly falls flat There’s no indication of why Ellie would let Abby go As Ellie said in the first game “everyone I’ve ever cared for has died or left me except for u “ Never has a vague statement predicted the entirety of the sequel As u review this I can’t exactly feel emotion for the characters Dina was sadly annoying , Joel’s moments are too short and far between, and the ending is void of impact Other then that the game is good but it falls flat in places where it needed to shine Story 7/10
