I've been a fan of Pokemon my entire life and never once have I ever thought I'd hate a Pokemon game. Yet here we are. I hate these games so much. It's almost like GameFreak is setting themselves up for a dumpster fire. They took every type of Pokemon player and threw them under the bus. Like Pokemon for the story? There is none. Like Pokemon for Pokemon? We cut out 60% of them. Like Pokemon for competitive? 20-minute time limit with no way to change it. Like Pokemon for completing the Pokedex or breeding shinies? We cut the Global Trading System. This game made so many hard cuts with nothing to compensate for it. The only things this had going for it were the Wild Area (which was beyond disapointing), the atmosphere of the gym challenge (which is the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1) and the new Pokemon designs.
