One of my earliest memories is watching "Search for Spock" in a drive-in during 1984. I have always liked Star Trek while not being a "Trekkie."
Was always a video game, manga, anime, fantasy, & Star Wars nerd. These days, there is too much negativity and politics amongst the fan base in the USA. Sure, some in Trek but it's still safe.
Spock and Carl Sagan were my role models as a kid growing up in the 1980s. This show explores Spock, his humanity, and makes him the center of comedy. For "Trek Purists," this is exactly what DS9 did with Worf.
This show is optimism, camp, cheese, philosophy, politics, and reverence for the history of the franchise.
Captain Pike by Anson Mount is already rivaling Sisko as the best in the franchise.
WATCH THIS SHOW! It's great to see Star Trek embrace it's cheesy and serious sides with such a wonderful cast!
