At first glance the slightly dystopian feel of the game makes think this game offers everything the old games lacked.
That is until you realise you cant interact much with the map beyond what’s offered in the very very repetitive missions. Cars used to be a decent factor in the old game, now they’re just kind of... there. Most stores are replaced with walls that you cant enter, NPCs and many locations feel like generic copy/paste jobs, and many of the fantastic types of side missions from WD2 are simply non-existent in Legion.
But thats not the worst part, this game is story driven with no actual protagonist. Yeah, being anyone seems revolutionary, but where’s the character backstory? The character to gamer connection? how are you meant to emotionally invest in the story if there’s no one to actually invest in? Not to mention you intentionally get handicapped by having certain abilities only available to certain characters (if you can find them).
Watch Dogs 1 was a good start. Watch Dogs 2 was pure fun. Watch Dogs Legion is simply boring, repetitive, and forgettable. In all seriousness, if you’re thinking of buying this game, DON’T. Get Watch Dogs 2 instead, buy all the DLCs and play it with all of its quirky online missions active, you’ll have more fun.
