The show is challenging to watch not because of any moral disagreement - hello, morally ambiguous protagonists have been beloved in popular media for decades now - The frustration is watching brilliant actors tied to such predictable and two-dimensional characters, with a central conflict that is as old as Cain and Abel. You get your bad boy with an accent that won't leave the picture, a sassy best friend that saw it all coming that the protagonist won't listen to, a protagonist with a Ph.D. in psychology who can't assess her own emotions, etc. You get the rest. It's great to see Sarah again, but unless you're a diehard L-Word stan like me, I'm pretty sure you're only sticking around for the illicit sex scenes.

You just can match this original series. I’m actually glad I found it all years after it wrapped so I didn’t have to wait! I recommend seasons 1-5, can probably do without the last one.

Surely a very important film for its target audience. A well-acted, accurate portrayal of the sickening and exhausting nature of the end of a young relationship - as both parties are ultimately just too young, too immature to bring such a thing to a close in any other way, but disastrously.

Babylon will only be enthralling to you if you are already nostalgic about the time period or fascinated by Hollywood and the film industry moreover… but I feel like wonderful storytelling will MAKE you interested in a scene even if you weren’t before. It felt quite aggrandized and more into calling itself provocative, than it was truly provocative. Provocative should mean something is daring but not that something is blunt/on the nose and without any substance… Lately I feel like these films (Once Upon a Time, La La Land, Babylon) are just passion projects for actors and directors who think the underbelly of the industry isn’t already well-explored, no, OVER-explored territory

The banking industry is as lucrative, toxic and addictive as they come. The moral conflicts and abuses of power aren’t even all that hidden from the public’s view, yet it does have this allure that attracts eager college grads and takes advantage of their youth, desperation and talent. The industry itself can certainly make for awesome television. But this ain’t it. The writing and concept are trying so hard... Why?! Why, Jesus?.... It’s all right there! It just goes past the realm of sympathetic viewing. It provokes nothing but nausea. Too horrible for me to continue past episode 2, even though I was personally rooting for the writer.

Stressful! And so very worthwhile. A substantive, stomach-churning horror sequel is a once in a decade experience.

Barry Jenkins' 'uses Beale Street' so exquisitely, that even those who are all too familiar with the injustice plaguing the American Criminal 'Justice' System will find their calloused heart has been thawed, softened, and pierced anew. It is sheer honesty, and despite all of her accompanying misery, this film demands a watch. But only one.
