Great read. To be able to come out of an environment like Tara did is amazing in itself. I was frustrated for her as I followed her efforts to gain access to, and understanding of, the outside world while being subjected to such radical survivalist and religious fundamentalist beliefs by her parents and some of her siblings.. Once she began her journey to educate herself, was further frustrated that she hung on so long, not to the radical beliefs of a survivalist, but to her parents who continued to distort what she learned were "uneducated" life views. Her struggle to leave that cocoon, as the reader will see, was immense.
