I'm a 26-year-old PhD studying chemistry lol. At first, I liked the idea of coming of age novel centered around two high school boys. It made me reminisced about my good old high school days. But I still found it hard to connect with the protagonists and the storylines are not organic and natural. The conversations and dialogues lack realness. I had to flip through so many pages just to keep myself finish reading it. I don't know who are the targeted readers. If it's a book for adults, then maybe don't pick two high schoolers as your protagonist. On the other hand, if the book is intended for teenagers, then maybe don't describe the sex scenes at such a detailed level, let's keep it PG13.
