Triumph of naturalism...classic love story...
Generally not a fan of "fight-lovemaking" however the early on middle-of-the-night sex outdoors is a portrait of intense beauty and theme and heart for this film: As Johnny finally successfully pins his 2/3 naked lover, he clearly PARTAKES, but his heart need is a poignant and desperate need to make the full connection, IMPART all his pent-up love.
