Doctor Who, ever since I was introduced to it in 2014 has been one of my favorite science fiction shows till even to the present. For those of you who had never seen the show, you should seriously watch it. It's about an alien "Timelord" named "The Doctor" who travels in time and throughout the universe ending aberrations created by delinquent species and foes. Of course this life is very dangerous and several times the Doctor has been nearly killed fatally 12 times (if more) and each time this occurs, he "regenerates" into a new person (new actor, new face and appearance, and personality [kind of]).
Now here is some advice fellow Whovians (fanatics of the show).
It did amazingly great (2005 series) during the Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith era.
Capaldi did also a phenomenal job halfway through until one of the lead writers, Steven Moffat, was leaving. Can't say that I blame him since he has been writing stories for them for nearly 10 years (including Tennant and Eccleston, as he created the Weeping Angels) and the man wants a break from it, you know.
It would seem that after Season 10, it began to get pretty disappointing. The Christmas special afterward (by Moffat) did make an amazing comeback and did bring back my Whovian groove back briefly for a few months, and then... Jodie Whittaker debuted.
She is so amazing! Her companions are too, and I must say that this would probably be the most special part of the Doctor that would probably be never forgotten. The writing though for it recently has been wibbly wobbly, the first few episodes was well introduced and then the fifth, sixth and seventh really set the peak. All the other ones before seemed somewhat boring and not as exciting, but they are starting with a fresh era with fresh writers, so it may take a while before the writers get used to it.
I will leave my rating neutral until Whittaker makes a few seasons that could sway my decision. Until then, my final rating for it is quite positive, but in recent days, is like a thumbs in the middle.
