Outdid the first game, really good and deserves a 9 to 9.2

Amazing game, The story is compelling and interesting and has a clear sense of linear progression in terms of the story, probably the best story in a while for an FF game. Though the game is not open world, it has an open world feel to it. It doesn't play like older final fantasy games, it more or less has a similar style to Devil May Cry but that offers transparency and adaptability to fans who always wanted to play a FF game yet felt like traditional RPG's weren't for them. I think the mechanics are a big improvement from the prior formats, as you control one character so there isn't any of you having to alternate between or revive fallen npc's/ party members which was outright tedious in prior games.

This game is terrible. The Story is good, the fight mechanics are fine but everything else is atrocious. The camera angling is awful in and outside of battle, which really gets annoying as many enemies in side missions use instant death. The mini games are annoying with many of them being mandatory if you want all the trophies. They have chapters, but no chapter select option for some reason, so If you accidentally miss something that is vital to you getting a trophy or the best armor, you have to replay the game. Also entirely too many enemies in later side missions use instant death and it just becomes solely about who one shots who first if they don't have a high defense. There are a lot of people who like anything that has has FF7 or FF for that matter in the title, my advice is don't be a tool. I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy but this game could be better in terms of gameplay and in how square enix handles game dynamics

I would prefer it if the developers figured out the concept of level scaling. The enemies even on normal are annoying, on top of that you have to do a ridiculous puzzle every three seconds. I don't mind doing puzzles but gets annoying when its puzzle after puzzle, a lot of them aren't common sense.

The game is good but the dynamics blow. 90% of what gets you killed is the animation. enemies take out massive amounts of health no matter the level, so healing and timing is imperative in the game. I feel like both attacks and recovery are delayed which isn't good in a game where most enemies can kill you 2 hits

The button prompts are very sloppy and the story is confusing. Personally, I thought Medan was garbage and this one is no better. I got killed off because they have a cursor prompt that has you go into requires you aim the analog into the cursor and when i pressed moved it into the cursor and pressed r1 it brought up the menu instead of marking the prompt as correct effectively killing one of my characters. secondly the game is very buggy, this is my second run after the my first attempt resulted in corrupted save data. This game has stopped working 3 times with the first being due to a corrupt file and there are no manual saves. You also do not get the luxury of redoing a chapter if an error occurs, messing up an entire playthrough.
