In Crazy Rich Asians, there was an overall theme of acceptance and a foreground of rich Asian stereotypes. For this film, I felt it was the opposite. Latino stereotypes overpowered character's dreams. This led me(as the audience) to loose focus on the main character and plotline. The plot and characters were Telemundo generic and I found it hard to have interest in characters ambitions. However, it feels great to see representation of other races on screen. Overall, a feel good movie that might be a classic for musical lovers but won't be memorable for others.
