As a professional pet groomer for nearly 40 years, I would NEVER do this to a dog. It's cruel and unnecessary punishment. Most people do not understand what's involved when doing this type of "grooming". Television shows like this only promote bad decisions that Americans make with regard to animals; such as spending outrageous amounts of money on so called "designer" breeds which are nothing more than mixed breed dogs. This is only going to cause an uproar within the akc and reputable breeders and dog groomers. This show needs to be cancelled
