Good game with many flaws.
I never played the original so it was nice to experience this in hd.
I really enjoyed it. It felt like a classic pokemon game with quality of life improvements.
The many flaws...
The difficulty curve going from the gyms to the elite four is probably the worst thing I have ever experienced in this series. This game was stupid easy and now all of a sudden I need to struggle just to beat one pokemon named Garchomp. This really ruined the experience for me personally. Maybe make the game increase in difficulty gradually. Because it currently goes from very easy to very hard, right after you step off victory road and into the leet 4 castle.
AND
yes I even beat it first try... But her getting one Swords Dance off then spamming dragon claw until it ran out of pp was cancer. I had to use all my max potions and max revives and only won with my last pokemon. It only survived many times because of the pity system that is now in this game.
Also the lack of fire pokemon even with the inclusion of the grand underground?
It is easier to get a mew than a fire pokemon in this game. I really hated that. I constantly had a random pokemon on my team that had flamethrower just to cover that spot.
NO Trading to other games AND NO use of pokemon home still after 2 going on 3 months of release. It is pathetic that I can't transfer the Mew in this game into my Let's Go Eevee. How dumb...
Hated how the tm's were break on use. This made me use a lot of sub optimal moves on pokemon.
So in summary I did enjoy this game. BUT I think it deserves a 2 star just because of the boredom and suffering that was included with a $60 price tag.
