As a massive fan of the earlier ff series' I was mightily dissapointed. Yes the detail is amazing but the gameplay was poor, the side quests were weak and the battles were button bashingly boring. It lacked strategy and depth. For me the most satisfying parts of the ff worlds are the exploration, hidden gems and the ever expanding open world. The fact that this game ends at the exiting of midgar before any open world exploration began was deflating and after reading articles of parts 2, 3, etc, it feels very much like we (original fans) are being exploited to part with our hard earned cash. Will I buy part 2? Of course I will because this the game I first played and repeated 14 times, but that's exactly my point, more chapters = more revenue. The original is far better in my opinion, and would highly recommend that anyone that enjoyed the remake, should play it and hopefully understand and agree with this review.
