I'm a regular MSNBC viewer but am disgusted upon learning that "Up with David Gura" aired a segment that contained an unsubstantiated--and, in fact, quite the opposite of being substantiated, it is easily debunked by a taking even a passing glance at Senator Bernie Sanders' long, admirable record of tirelessly fighting for civil rights and women's rights--smear attack on Senator Sanders by one Mimi Rocah. She stated that she "can't even tell you why" she feels this way but that, quote, Senator Sanders "makes her skin crawl", which, okay, she is entitled to her opinion--that's her opinion, but then we get to the unacceptable, mischaracterizing smear: she goes on to say that she thinks Bernie is "anti-woman", and she doesn't see how any "young woman" watching could possibly vote for him over Elizabeth Warren. Well, one, it is a lie to say Bernie is "anti-woman". He has a lifetime of being a proponent of equal rights and women's rights to prove that. Two, Rocah seems to be advocating reverse sexism and saying that, basically, women should vote for women, not some man who, though she can't tell us why, "makes her skin crawl."
MSNBC should never, ever, ever have this Rocah person back on their airwaves, as it demains them as a news organization. Differing opinions are a good thing. Mischaracterizing, lying smear attacks are not, and are beneath the network's stature, since it has such fine programming as "The Rachel Maddow Show" to its credit. Having a despicable, smear-prone person like Mimi Rocah on ruins the credibility of MSNBC, and MSNBC should not only never have her back, but should come out and denounce her slanderous statement about Bernie, who is a profoundly decent, great man who has spent a lifetime fighting for civil rights for all.
