Hated it. Do not waste your time… wish I could get mine back.

First- incredible world building and acting all around. I loved Dune 1 and had been anticipating Dune 2 for ages, so I was amazed that it could make me walk out an hour fifteen in. However, the director’s choices to make it intentionally dark and stomach turning over and over… I just found I wasn’t even enjoying it. Our heroine willingly tortures a man and doesn’t even compassionately kill him. We see dark and explicit killing over and over- when implied would have been sufficient. It just wasn’t for me. There are also overt anti-religious tones- but I guess that is on me for not knowing Dune is a cautionary tale about following charismatic leaders or Messiahs. My family who stayed was just really upset by where the storyline turns at the end as well. No one felt satiated. Incredibly talented make— way too dark for me.

I just wasn't that taken with it. Felt long. Didn't connect with the main character until the closing scenes. Visually, it was absolutely gorgeous though. Characters and jokes fell flat for me, overall. My kids liked it.

It was an unexpectedly fun movie. Thought I would catch the first 15 minutes with the kids, then exit ... but watched the whole thing. I would place it somewhere between 4-5 stars.

Wow. Went in excited and felt it was corny. Didn't attach to characters. Only one line towards the end even evoked emotion for me beyond laughter (at the wrong moments).

Hated it. Didn't know I was bringing my 8 year old boy and teen boys into a long movie about menstrual cycles, hormones and "my body, my choice". Didn't find the characters likeable and didn't know what I was supposed to be hoping for the whole time. Truly my least favorite Disney/Pixar movie I have ever seen. Such a let-down following Encanto, which I loved. Such a far fall from that messaging.
