Read the book, enjoyed the 1954 film immensely and watched the 2023 movie. Did 30 years in the Navy as a Mustang Naval Officer (Mustang means I came up through the ranks - all of them). The 2023 movie is junk. I am surprised with all the top notch reviews. Please watch the 1954 film. It is spot on!
