Neutrality

Just finished watching for a third time. I am still in awe. Such a graceful movie so full of hope. May all of us feel the wonder of a life with no sorrow or fear. May we rise above our petty squabbles and become the gods we can be. This is what this movie brings to me.

I found it mundane. While it may have a somewhat different “monster” idea there is nothing new about the stalking, suspense or possible impossibility of killing the “creature.” It’s just a ghost movie where you can see the ghost. I felt very little about this movie except wondering when it was going to stop. They’ll be sequels of course. I hope they do better with that.

Pretty good movie but is in no way a comedy.

Extremely disappointing. I couldn’t get past the first episode. Very much a show for young teens.

Wes Anderson never disappoints. He has a way to bring art to the screen in a simplistic complexity that people like myself, educated but not artsy, can truly appreciate. He makes me want to love the theatre even more. The actors in this particular movie shine. From Bill Murray to Francis McDormand, they bring to life the luscious and whimsical mind that resides in Mr. Anderson.

The first show I ever binge watched; back when it meant you had to watch it on dvd’s to do so. It was expensive but worth every penny. I could not wait to watch it a second time! I’ve watched it again since then and still loved it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Truly amazing. I find it appalling how the airwaves are now full of worthless “reality” programming and feckless game shows while such great shows as this are limited to 3 seasons. This program takes one back to a time when power was limited to the royal yet life for them was still perilous.

You know the question that people ask: “If you could have a meeting with anyone, who would it be?” Ricky Gervais would be at the top of that list. I think Gervais’ comedy is only surpassed by his innate ability to reach inside the human heart. “Derek” is remarkable. My heart explodes when I watch it.

Does Allen ever make a movie where people aren’t monsters?
