I feel so blessed to have seen Cirque du Soleil productions 7 times in a little over 13 years. Each one was just as beautiful as the last, but I never thought anything could be on par with Varekai and Toruk. Corteo was, by far, one of the best Cirque shows I've seen to date. It's not flashy or supernatural like their other productions, but that's the intention. The name refers to a procession, a lineup of people remembering a life. With a concept so simple and so emotional, you can't expect anything but an intimate production. Corteo, at its core, is about people doing what they love, and that's what you get. Coreto is ethereal, like a waking dream, and I recommend you see it live. So beautiful!

Honestly, I don't care if this movie wasn't "historically accurate." (Why does a cartoon have to be a carbon copy of history, anyway?) Pocahontas is a gorgeous Disney film, one of my favorites when I was growing up and one of my favorites today. It's music and story are wonderful.
