I agree with the Young VHS collector's assessment of Xanadu being misunderstood. This film was a wonder of integration of so many venues of musical theater, plots and mythology. It was a challenge for the viewer to get lost into a fantasy format, be entertained, but also learn how to evaluate your reality, by realizing in this fantasy there were some concepts that supported of a renewal of ones sense of worth- of value. To get inspired and dream of what could be out of a despairing situation.
I am so horrified that this film got such a review because it reflects on those that reviewed it. They exhibit that they have no soul or at least have buried it so deep as it has no function in their life. Having no imagination that they could see something more than themselves or see a better way of making their lives better. The greedy rich, overbearing egos, deranged power mongers, and those so fearful of something unique or possibility of change. Very -very sad.
This movie could teach us how to restore our lives to a humanitarian, environmentally conscious, defender of the weak, protectors of all Life with emphasis on the non-human [who have been ravaged]; and therefore live in balance with creation and live in harmony. If we can not reach this we are doomed to die and leave this planet for what is left, plant and animal to progress and live" joyously" with out us. Yet because some of us that have had a symbiotic relationship with creation to some degree these animals will miss this connection. My experience with trying to connect and relate and communicate I have found they really want to have that connection.
