I had high hopes for this book, which was a gift to me. I thoroughly enjoyed Bob Mortimer's whimsical story-telling on Would I Lie To You and was looking forward to seeing if that skill would translate to a novel. It didn't.
I got nearly halfway through the book before deciding my time would be better spent elsewhere. It's not that it's terrible, but there's no depth to it. The characters are almost caricatures. The plot doesn't ring true. Novels are not Bob's forte.
