I saw this movie yesterday, and I'm aghast (possiblyeven appalled) at the sight of all of the negativity directed there to. The Kitchen far exceeded my expectations and I'm one of the more cynical moviegoers you'll meet in your time. It's a gritty, realistic, and fervid account of mob life, centering in its principal underlying theme: survival. The plight confronted by the characters of McCarthy, Haddish, and Moss is one of survival necessitating a certain degree of transgression, and their performances are unwaveringly realistic. It's been some time since I've been this impressed with a movie. If you haven't seen it yet, you owe it to yourself to. Don't let yourself be swayed by unfavorable reviews! You won't be disappointed.
