The biopic of Amy’s life i found to be quite lacklustre and not as authentic as they could have made it out to be. It seems like it was more of a strive to get ratings rather than do Amy justice. The film does well to capture the more signififant parts of her life, but as a fan of Amy it would have been more interesting to see more of Amy’s inner passion and enthusiasm for music as a lot of the time it seems to focus more on presenting Amy as a more promiscuous woman, and quite brash. The film was beautifully shot and produced however the actual content of the movie seemed to be nothing short of a Wikipedia scan. I would have like to have seen more of how she made her songs especially the ones that were not on the charts as they are too, beautifully sung and written songs. I would have liked to see more of Amy’s family/home life, it was great to have seen the relationship with her Nan, but what about the day to day Amy? The things that we don’t know about her, the things that the media didn’t publicise. The relationship with perhaps the rapper Nas, or the dynamic with her backup singers or her Goddaughter. Amy was a fierce, stunning, talented woman. A woman who was EXTREMELY real and wore her heart on her sleeve which already is impossible to replicate. At times it felt like the biopic was very much so a person playing Amy for a fancy dress up or a cosplay, and it was sometimes very cringe hearing the attempt of a East London accent and Amy’s unique and strong attitude and personality -more research could have been done. The actress playing Amy seemed to be doing her best however it did feel very forced and at times you can hear very strongly the auto tune and the strain to sound like Amy, and would have perhaps been better to just have put Amy’s original vocals on top as her voice is so unique. In conclusion, any strong fans of Amy i wouldn’t recommend watching if you wish to seek a more in-depth portrayal of Amy, something that is raw and emotional. However, if you are a person who enjoys Amy’s music and doesn’t know much about her and only interested in watching for entertainment purposes, it may be more suitable.

Poor show, condoning cheating, very staged, poor matching in couples (in most situations 1 couple is authentic outside the experiment.) The experts are not really experts it seems- they turn a blind eye to the behaviour and as an ‘experts’ who supposedly has some sort of psychological background you would think they would be able to see through lies and unacceptable behaviours. They allow people to be embarrassed by dishonest and rude partners. If this was an real experiment they should have looked at all variables and conducted pilot studies to avoid conflict within the group and make it much more valid. People come here to be MARRIED not cheated on! When contestants are being real in regards to what is right and wrong, the experts alongside some contestants disregard their opinions or consider them as rude. Poor poor show, would not recommend.
