The cinematography, costumes, and music are outstanding in the Outlander episodes. The casting is also very well done. To find time for more of Gabaldon's great storytelling, I wish the director would cut out some of the sex scenes. It is boring to watch other people make love in such detail over and over. There are other ways to convey Claire's and Jamie's passion and unique bond without having a complete sex scene every time--a glance, a caress, the beginning but then not the end. There isn't much nuance or suspense, so ultimately, it isn't as romantic as it could be. I assume the producer and director think the sex is why people watch the series, and maybe it is, but I find myself fast forwarding most of the time because it just isn't that interesting even if it is well acted. The story is great, though. I wish it were available on Netflix sooner.
