This show is one of my favorite network TV shows in years, because the characters seem authentic and the focus is on story lines, not insipid romances that don't interest me. There's not a lot of mugging for the camera, the pacing is steady and just varied enough that it doesn't seem like it's trying too hard, and the overall premise seems plausible enough to me. It's a no nonsense drama some reviewers seem to think is too similar to past tv shows, but I think it fills a void that is still relevant.
