Love This Show. So glad I'm able to watch this and other great Black content on Disney + in England. Yaya and the entire cast and production crew are superb. It's a refreshing look at Black life. Eve's Bayou meets How Stella Got Her Groove Back with a good sprinkle of spice from the best of the American Daytime soaps. It's in that sweet spot of having characters that really connect with each other in an organic way but still has those crazy moments that keep viewers tuning in. I'm on episode 4 and I hope it stays in this sweet spot and doesn't force itself into outlandish and cold Empire territory.

I enjoyed the first Wonder Woman but I did find the World War setting quite bleak & contextually different to the story I'd grown up with as a kid. Well Patty Jenkins must have seen my mood board blend, there's a factory load of 1980s did that just happen Magic! Wonder Woman 1984 feels so different which I'm loving especially during the pandemic. The whole cast give it their all. There's some excellent Superheroing but a lot more living life through It's ups and down's than I expected to see and found refreshing. The film builds to a powerful & thoughtful ending that seems as relevant as It's ever been. £15.99 worthy 8.6/10. Only minus points are I'd have liked a scene at the start showing how Steve. Plus I'd a longer fight with Cheetah with more hand to hand combat.

The original is a classic but I didn't connect with the European Hansel & Gretal setting. The remake certainly revolutionises this by transferring things to Alabhama 1968 and focuses on a black grandma and her recently orphaned grandson discovering the witches coven. The duo are wonderfully played by Octavia Spencer and Jahzir Bruno. Anne Hataway is great as the Grand High Witch yet is maybe a little too glam to be as terrifying as Angelica Houston BUT wait for the finale. 1990s horror principles may not go down as well in 2020 in a kids movie. However the visual affects sequences are so much more dynamic and fun then the original. Plus Stanley Tucci and all the remaining cast give it 100%. Fear factor is still there so it's a 4 out of 5 from me.
