Amazing cinematography! From a religious point of view, it was a bit difficult to watch. It seemed to conflate religion and culture often. Also was personally not a fan of the xenocentric rhetoric by the main characters. In spite of that, the film felt very genuine and seemed to come from a real experience. I just wish we can see more diverse portrayals of Muslims on screen. Many of us are not going through a faux-struggle between cultures, and many of us are very comfortable in our skins and proud of our own cultures. Muslims have stepped up from playing terrorists, but now the Muslim heroes of the story are the most westernized Muslims or the ones who disobey their parents or the one that marries the white girl.

Great first season, and I think there is a lot of room for the characters to really grow and develop next season. Zero has so much potential, and I hope season 2 keeps the momentum going.

I absolutely love this extremely underrated show!!

I absolutely love this show, and if you read the reviews, everyone loves this show. The only negative comments are the groups of people being criticized on the show (i.e., a cop, Hindu nationalist, prolifers, etc.) and people who can't take a joke. Those people also loved the show until the camera was pointed at them. HBO won't please everyone, but if you want to watch a great political comedy show run by a hilarious brit, I highly recommend this show.
