Decided to finally try it out after hearing so many people rave about it and my friend pestering me about the darn thing. This game is DEFINTELY Souls-like (for the uninitiated, a "Souls-like" game derives from the controversially popular Souls series, a third-person melee action franchise known for it's simple combat mechanics and terrifying difficulty) but I think it's because of the franchise name it's attached to, I can dig it!! Maybe all I needed a lightsaber and a droid instead of a sword and a couple of bonfires. It also borrows a healthy amount from the Metroid and Castlevania series with it's optional exploration tactics and hidden secrets to come back to.
Set years after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, you play as Cal Kestis, a young Jedi on the run after Order 66 was implemented. Through a series of misadventures and a fated meeting with a droid named BD-1, he goes on a quest to restore order to the Force. However, he must also prove himself worthy enough to defeat a load of bad guys like the Inquisitors (powerful Sith warriors hell bent to finish what was started), random bounty hunters doing their job, and big bad beasties like a huge frog-like creature named Oggdo Bodgo and the Gorgara.
plus you get a double-bladed lightsaber. so. there's that.
